Metro detectives working to identify burglary suspects in southwest Valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is working to identify suspects involved in four reported burglaries that targeted retail businesses in the southwest Valley.

Metro’s Enterprise Area Command Patrol is calling on the public to help identify the suspects who have entered each location wearing gloves and hoodies around their faces.

The above surveillance video of the suspects was captured. Descriptions of the pair are as follows:

  • Suspect No.1: Hispanic male, 5’9″, approximately 170 lbs., shaved head. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.
  • Suspect No.2: Hispanic female, 5’6″, approximately 130 lbs. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, blue jeans and black shoes.

Police K9 attacks random bystander

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Vancouver police K9 attacked a bystander while officers took another man into custody.

Police are investigating the incident, which was caught on camera. Video taken from a window over the area shows officers handcuffing a man on the sidewalk at West 13th and Columbia Street in downtown Vancouver.

The video pans to a police car across the street, where a K9 darts from the car and toward a man standing nearby.

The police dog appears to run straight for the man and started tugging on his sleeves. Vancouver police said the man was treated for minor injuries.

The man was not related to the initial police investigation.

Police are investigating the incident and said the police dog will be removed from service until the investigation. ... Read More

Aurora survivors urge ‘Joker’ studio to support gun control

DENVER (AP) — Alarmed by violence depicted in a trailer for the upcoming movie “Joker,” some relatives of victims of the 2012 Aurora movie theater shooting asked distributor Warner Bros. on Tuesday to commit to gun control causes.

Sandy Phillips’ daughter, Jessica Ghawi, was one of 12 people killed in the suburban Denver theater during a midnight showing of the Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises,” also distributed by Warner Bros.

Phillips said she and four other people who lost loved ones in Aurora sent a letter to Warner on Tuesday, asking the studio to lobby Congress for gun control, support survivor programs and end any contributions to politicians backed by the National Rifle Association... Read More

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announces impeachment inquiry into President Trump

WASHINGTON (WFXR/AP) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced Tuesday, Sept. 24, that the House of Representatives would open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.

The announcement comes as President Trump is under scrutiny for his communications with the president of Ukraine.

Pelosi made the announcement Tuesday from the speaker’s office at the Capitol saying “no one is above the law.”

The move puts the Democratic speaker’s stamp on the investigations that have been underway in the House.

Calls for an impeachment inquiry have intensified following reports that Trump may have sought a foreign government’s help in his reelection bid.

Walrus sinks Russian Navy boat in the Arctic Ocean

London & Moscow (CNN) — walrus attacked and
sunk a Russian Navy landing
boat in the Arctic Ocean last
week, with no one hurt in the incident.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense,
the female animal was protecting its calves when it targeted the craft carrying
researchers to the shore of Cape Geller in the Arctic.
