Metro Police Officers Found Justified in Costco Shooting

LAS VEGAS - A seven member coroner's inquest jury found the officer involved shooting death of Erik Scott outside a Summerlin Costco on July 10 justified. Jurors took about an hour and a half to reach a decision.

"They had to present the truth. They also had the chance to present the facts at the coroner's inquest hearing. As we see it, the system failed miserably," said Erik's father Bill Scott. "When one team gets to dictate what happens on the field, and the other team is told to keep their hands in their pocket or their feet rooted to the ground, how are you ever going to get the truth out there?"

Two of the three officers who shot and killed Erik Scott in front of the Summerlin Costco testified Tuesday morning at the coroner's inquest.
