It’s time to walk the dog for charity Saturday morning.
Hundreds of canines will be out at the Las Vegas Humane Society’s 16th Annual Wag-A-Tail Walk-A-Thon fundraiser on Saturday, April 7 at the Kellogg/Zaher Sports Complex, 7901 W. Washington, between Durango and Buffalo. All proceeds to support the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society.
Pre-registration for the 2-mile doggy walk begins at 7:30 a.m. and the event kicks off at 9 a.m. You and your favorite canines can enjoy a morning filled with entertainment, music, free refreshments, vendor booths, games and raffle prizes. The 5th Annual Polished Pooch Modeling Contest starts at 10:30 a.m., affording a chance to watch the five finalists flaunt the latest in canine fashions.
The cost is $30 per adult, 15 per student (with ID) and free for children 12 years old or under.
The rules:
- Dogs must be at least 4 months of age and kept on leashes at all times.
- Dogs SHOULD be current on all vaccinations but MUST be spayed/neutered per city ordinance. Owner can have a breeder's permit.
- Owners must keep their dogs under control and clean up after their animals. Bags will be provided.
