An up coming festival will celebrate one of the great traditions of the holiday season and raise money for a worthy cause.

The We Knead the Dough Gingerbread Festival will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 4 at Faith Lutheran Middle/High School, 2015 South Hualapai Way.

The festival will feature a display of dozens of gingerbread houses, 1,000 gingerbread people, a pizza lunch, a visit from Santa Claus, carnival games and children’s activities.

Chef Jesus Castillo from MGM Grand and Monte Carlo Resort and Casino will be giving gingerbread-making and decorating demonstrations throughout the event.

Admission is $15 and includes a gingerbread cookie decorating kit, pizza buffet and games. Guests who pay $50 will get all of those items plus a chance to decorate their own gingerbread house.

All the proceeds from the event will benefit the Rape Crisis Center Building Fund. The Rape Crisis Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping victims of sexual assault.
