Students at one southern Nevada school got a chance to hear some music and an anti-bullying message.

Pop music artist Ryan Beatty performed at two assemblies Monday at Fertitta Middle School. It wasn't all about the music, Beatty also talked to the students about treating others with respect.

The event was hosted by John Moug from 98.5 KLUC-FM and was part of the Flip the Script anti-bullying effort.

"Basically, the whole thing is a movement against bullying. We all know that it is kind of an epidemic in our community and Flip the Script invites students in the Clark County School District to take a pledge against bullying," Moug said.

Moug pointed out that the project is working because people are taking the pledge every day.

Beatty's new single is about bullying and the efforts to stop it. He felt appearing at the school was a perfect fit.
