Dinosaurs in Nevada Featured in New Lecture | Education & Schools
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Nevada is best known for casinos and mining but there was a time when dinosaurs called the state home. That time period will be the focus of a presentation at Red Rock Canyon.
The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is hosting Dr. Josh Bonde from UNLV's Geoscience Department at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Dr. Bonde will discuss how evidence of dinosaurs have been found in four out of 17 of Nevada's counties. He'll also show how the amazing fossil evidence points to a sand sea covering parts of southern Nevada during the Jurassic Era.
Bonde will also point out the most recent discoveries that actually happened within the past ten years.
