City of Las Vegas planning two concerts in the park in May

The city of Las Vegas is offering two free concerts in May as part of the city's Las Vegas Arts Connection community outreach.

The first concert will be at 7 p.m. May 9 at Bruce Trent Park, 8851 S. Vegas Drive.  The Red Rock Ramblers will play a mix of bluegrass, classic country, swing and gospel music.

The second concert will be 7 p.m. May 16 at Police Memorial Park, 3250 Metro Academy Way. John Earl's Boogieman Band will perform some of their original works that feature a Delta and Chicago Blues tone. They will also perform classic songs from that genre.

Red Rock Resort Announces Summer Concert Series

The Red Rock Resort has announced the return of its summer concert series for its outdoor poolside venue.

Tickets for the Sandbar Summer Concert Series go on sale Friday. The first concert will be May 3 with Lifehouse. Other performers include The Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry, The Fray, Kansas and more.

B.J. Thomas Inviting Fans Into His Living Room

Thomas is a mainstay of the local scene.

B.J. Thomas has been an unheralded Las Vegas performer since Elvis was still alive, and has played suburban casinos since they started booking headliners in the 1990s.

Wet 'n' Wild Offers New Tickets, New Hours and New Movies

Wet 'n' Wild is adding to its summer offerings with new ticket options, new weekend hours and a new way to watch movies.

The water park is starting Dive 'n' Movie night every other Friday through August 23. The movies will be shown at Red Rock Bay wave pool. Guests will be able to watch PG-rated movies while floating in the wave pool or sitting on the surrounding deck.

The movies start at 8 p.m. and end at 10 p.m., when the park closes.

Fireworks at Station Casinos for Independence Day

Locals at opposite ends of the valley will be able to see fireworks away from the Strip on July 4.

Station Casinos will set off fireworks at both Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort sometime after 9 p.m. on Independence Day.

The “We Love Locals’ July 4th Fireworks Blast” will be a nine-minute fireworks show to honor the nation’s birthday.

The fireworks show will be produced by the Gruccis of New York.

Friday Night Live Concert Series Returns

Friday Night Live returns to Trails Park in Summerlin Friday night.

The popular live show kicks off with '80s revival band Loveshack, which has been voted Best of Las Vegas in the Las Vegas Review-Journal readers poll several times.

The show starts at 7 p.m. and it is free to attend.

The concert series continues August 9 with Yellow Brick Road scheduled to perform and September 6 with Boogie Knights on the schedule.
