A doctor made famous by a film starring Robin Williams will make a special appearance in Las Vegas.

Dr. Patch Adams will be coming to southern Nevada Thursday, March 1. Dr. Adams will give a lecture at Touro University Nevada campus in Henderson. In the afternoon, the famed doctor will make a special visit to Summerlin Hospital. He will perform a private clowning session to the children in the Children’s Medical Center.

Following his stop in Summerlin, Dr. Adams will speak at a community lecture hosted by Circus Circus. The lecture is at 7 p.m. It is open to the public. After the lecture, there will be a private VIP reception for invited guests.

“We are looking forward to clowning around with Dr. Adams while he is here at Touro University Nevada.  Our hope is that he will encourage our students to be caring health care professionals and that we can also learn more from him on using laughter as the best medicine,” said Senior Provost and CEO Michael Harter, Ph.D.

Seating for the community lecture at Circus Circus is limited. People interested in attending must RSVP with Touro University Nevada offices at 702-777-3100, no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29.
