Beer Fest Coming to Tivoli Village

Beer lovers will get a chance to enjoy dozens of different beers from top breweries on Saturday. 

The inaugural Great Vegas Beer Fest will take place at Tivoli Village on Alta Drive near the Summerlin Parkway. The festival will feature more than 100 beers from 25 breweries. A ticket costs $27 in advance and $37 at  the door. Admission includes a tasting glass and access to all breweries. Food will be available for purchase from the restaurants inside Tivoli Village and several gourmet food trucks will be parked at the event. A portion of the ticket prices will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas. Gates open at 5 p.m. and close at 9 p.m.

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is dangling a free donut to encourage people to ride mass transit Thursday.

The RTC is encouraging valley residents to save money and ride transit on the sixth annual National Dump the Pump Day. Park your vehicle at any of the RTC Park & Ride locations throughout southern Nevada or simply walk up to a transit stop and take transit to your destination, saving you money.

Visit any of the park and ride locations below between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., receive a free Krispy Kreme donut (while supplies last) and learn more about transportation alternatives from the RTC’s Club Ride Commuter Services Program.

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman will host his last 'Martinis with the Mayor' on Wednesday.

The mayor will host the gathering at The Martini Restaurant and Bar starting at 5 p.m. There will be drinks made especially for the event including "The Oscar", a straight up martini made with Bombay Sapphire gin. There will also be several food specials with a nod to the mayor's past as a lawyer for reputed members of the mob.

Goodman has been mayor of Las Vegas for 12 years. He'll leave office after the June election.

Tune In to See Graduation Ceremonies

If you're looking to see your favorite student walk the graduation stage, turn to Cox Cable channel 96 or head to its website.

Cox Communications, in partnership with the Clark County School District, Orleans Arena and Thomas & Mack Center, will broadcast local high school graduation ceremonies from Monday, June 13 through Wednesday, June 29. The Cox 96 broadcasts will also be available via streaming video at www.Cox96.net and follow the broadcast schedule.

The majority of graduation ceremonies originating from the Orleans Arena (OR) will be broadcast live while ceremonies originating from the Thomas & Mack Center (TMC) will be tape delayed. The broadcast schedule is as follows:

Save Money with Early Registration for Camp Foxtail

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada is now accepting camper registrations for its 2011 resident summer camp sessions June 19 to August 14.  Download the camp book and register on-line at girlscoutsnv.org.

Established in 1949, Camp Foxtail, located in the Toiyabe National Forest, provides Girl Scouts ages 8 to 17 years old with traditional resident camp experiences.  Programs encourage leadership through activities such as hiking, biking, rock climbing, high and low adventure courses, singing, arts and crafts, campfires and much more.

Session prices range from $300 to $350 and girls must be a registered member of Girl Scouts to attend Camp Foxtail. Membership is $12 annually and can be purchased at the same time as camp sessions.
