Two rock ‘n’ roll legends are coming to the Red Rock Casino Amphitheatre in June.

Def Leppard along with Poison and special guest Lita Ford will play the resort Saturday, June 23. Tickets for the show go on sale Saturday. They start at $29.50 and go up to $149.50. They can be purchased at any Station Casinos Reward Center and The Fiestas. People can also log onto sclv.com/concerts, livenation.com or ticketmaster.com to by tickets.

Def Leppard made a name for its self in the 80s with two huge hit albums “Pyromania” and “Hysteria.” Last summer the band released a live album that rose to the top 20 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.

Poison was also one of the biggest bands in the 80s selling more than 30 million albums worldwide. Singer Bret Michaels has recently made headlines by surviving a brain hemorrhage and winning “Celebrity Apprentice.”

Summerlin Circus Coming to Crossing Park


The big top is coming to Crossing Park for two days of circus fun.

The Summerlin Circus will take over the park March 17 and 18. There will be two shows each day at 2 and 4 p.m. The shows will feature acrobats, aerialists, high-wire walkers and clowns.

Tickets are $5 with proof of residency and can be purchased in advance at Trails, Willows and Gardens Community Centers. Only checks will be accepted. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $8.

Tickets For Beach Boys Concert Go on Sale Monday


The Beach Boys will be celebrating their 50th anniversary with a tour stop at Red Rock Resort. The legendary group will perform 8 p.m. Sunday, May 27 at the Red Rock Amphitheatre.

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Monday at any Station Casinos Reward Center and the Fiestas. Fans can also go to stationcasinos.com/concerts, livenation.com or ticketmaster.com to buy tickets. Prices range from $29 to $125. There are also special VIP ticket packages available through vipnation.com.

The line-up includes Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks. This tour is the first time those five members have toured together in two decades. The group will be going to more than 40 cities starting in April. They will headline the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival April 27.

The band is also planning to release a new studio album and a commemorative 50th anniversary catalog.

Faith Lutheran Middle School Wins Science Bowl


Middle school students from Faith Lutheran took top honors in the Nevada Regional Science Bowl for Middle Schools.

Thirty teams competed Saturday at Henderson International School. Faith Lutheran emerged victorious and Coral Academy took second place.

Faith Lutheran wins $1,000 for their school’s math and/or science department. The students and coach also receive an expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. for the National Science Bowl sponsored by the Department of Energy from April 26-30.

Free Pancakes Tuesday at Local IHOP Restaurants

IHOP will serve up free pancakes throughout the valley Tuesday, with the hope diners will donate to charity in return.

For the seventh consecutive year, IHOP will offer a free short stack of its buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on National Pancake Day in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

For every short stack served, customers are asked to make a donation. Donations made at IHOPs in the Las Vegas area will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ program at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals.

Miss Nevada Alana Lee will be on hand from 7 to 11 a.m. to flip and serve pancakes to guests at IHOP at 7490 S. Las Vegas Blvd in Las Vegas.

Dress for Success Sends Out an "S.O.S."


A local group that helps underprivileged women acquire business suits is readying for a major annual drive.

Dress for Success Southern Nevada, an affiliate of the international not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women, is participating in S.O.S. – Send One Suit – Weekend® taking place Thursday, March 1 - Sunday, March 4.

“This annual campaign encourages women nationwide to donate one new or nearly-new interview suit to help another woman enter the workforce and take charge of her life,” said Paige Candee, Dress for Success Southern Nevada founder. “These donations will greatly help women in southern Nevada to achieve self sufficiency.”

A doctor made famous by a film starring Robin Williams will make a special appearance in Las Vegas.

Dr. Patch Adams will be coming to southern Nevada Thursday, March 1. Dr. Adams will give a lecture at Touro University Nevada campus in Henderson. In the afternoon, the famed doctor will make a special visit to Summerlin Hospital. He will perform a private clowning session to the children in the Children’s Medical Center.

Following his stop in Summerlin, Dr. Adams will speak at a community lecture hosted by Circus Circus. The lecture is at 7 p.m. It is open to the public. After the lecture, there will be a private VIP reception for invited guests.
