Mayor Goodman Wants Everyone to Get Movin' | Health
Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman is inviting everyone to the first “Get Movin’ with Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman.”
The 1 mile walk and health event is set for 8 a.m. Saturday, April 28 at Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex, 7901 W. Washington Ave. The event is free. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Pets that are on a leash are welcome. Free light refreshments will be available for participants, while supplies last.
"We want Las Vegans to be the healthiest people in the world, and exercise will help us be healthier," Mayor Goodman said. "The city offers many great recreational opportunities, and I encourage residents to take advantage of the city's parks, trails and sports facilities to have fun while they exercise."
The mayor’s walk is part of the Mayor’s Healthy Lifestyle Initiative. The initiative includes a three-point plan which encourages people in Las Vegas to eat healthy, to give up sedentary lifestyles and to enjoy the many parks and recreation areas around the city.
