Couple Looks for Answers After Dog Shot While on Walk | News
A couple is looking for the person who shot their dog Thursday night as they were on a walk near TPC Summerlin Golf Course.
Maria and Diego Sanz de Acedo were walking their husky, Bosco, at around 8:30 p.m., in a park near the golf course. The dog was not on a leash. He had walked a short distance ahead of the Sanz de Acedo's when they heard a loud bang. She thought it was fireworks, but soon they spotted Bosco limping towards them. The dog had been shot.
“At first, I thought it was not real. It took me some seconds to realize this was real. The last thing you expect when you are taking a nice walk is that your dog is going to be shot twice,” Sanz de Acedo said.
They rushed him to a nearby animal hospital. Bosco is now stable, but the large caliber bullet is still lodged near the dog’s spine. The veterinarian says removing it would do more harm.
“Since he is a husky, he needs to run. He has a lot of energy, and he loves to do that. Now we don't feel safe anymore,” Sanz de Acedo said.
Metro Police is investigating the shooting. They have no suspect information at this time.
