A Las Vegas man is in critical condition after driving into a pole early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. near Rainbow Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue. According to witnesses, the driver, 52-year-old Lee Turner, was heading eastbound on Cheyenne Avenue approaching Rainbow Boulevard, when his car hit the raised island between the right hand travel lane and the right hand turning lane, hitting a signal light pole.

According to Metro Police, Turner showed signs of being drunk and was charged with driving under the influence.
