The nation is remembering the attack on Pearl Harbor with ceremonies around the country, including at one senior living community in Las Vegas.
Seniors at Atria Seville on North Rampart Boulevard held a ceremony Friday morning. During the event, John Waid, The Department of Finance Officer of the Nevada Purple Hearts spoke about his experiences being based next to Pearl Harbor several years.
Friday is the 71st anniversary of the Japanese attack on U.S. forces stationed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The ceremonies there started with a ship's whistle at 7:55 a.m., which is the exact time the bombing started in 1941.
