An outstanding athlete from The Meadows added another award to his trophy case.

Garrett Gosse earned a SAMMY Award and will receive a $7,500 college scholarship, and was featured in a USA Today ad over the weekend wearing a milk mustache. More than 30,000 students entered the SAMMY Awards this year. There were 25 winners, outstanding high school senior student-athletes who excel in academics, athletics and community service.

Gosse’s accomplishments include earning a spot in the top of his high school class. His athletic achievements include being named the Wendy’s High School Heisman National Winner and leading The Meadows football team to state championships twice during his high school career.  He serves as Senior Class Vice President and volunteers with Southern Nevada Burn Foundation, which provides assistance to burn victims and their families.
