Water Heater Permits Now Available at Home Depot

The city of Las Vegas approved a plan to allow people to get permits for water heaters and water softeners at Home Depots around southern Nevada.

Under the agreement, the Home Depot will be allowed to issue proof of permit and collect permit payments from customers. The information and money will be forwarded to the city. Customers can then go to the city’s website to schedule an inspection, which can be done seven days a week. The idea is to help customers save time and an extra trip.

The pilot program will be available at12 stores around the Las Vegas valley, including four within the city limits.

  • 1401 S. Lamb Blvd.
  • 7881 W. Tropical Pkwy.
  • 9705 W. Charleston Blvd.

The agreement will be for 90 days with six-month renewal options. The kiosks will only offer permits for water heater and water softeners.

New Shopping Center Coming to Summerlin

New Shopping Center Coming to Summerlin

A new shopping center is coming to the Summerlin area.

The developers of Tivoli Village and One Queensridge Place announced plans Thursday to build a 200,000 square-foot retail center at Sahara Avenue and Hualapai Way. The center will be anchored by a specialty grocery store. There will also be large and mid-sized clothing, accessory, beauty and sporting goods stores.

The plan is to open the center in 2013.

Free Lollypops Offered on Lollypop Day

A gourmet candy shop is offering free lollypops Friday for National Lollypop Day.

See’s Candies is offering a free pop at anyone of its four stores around the Las Vegas valley. The store is also offering discounts on boxes of lollypops until Monday.

While at the shop, people can also enter to win a trip to San Francisco to see the See’s Lollypop Factory.

See’s locations and closing times Friday:
