Police investigating deadly shooting in gated southwest valley community |

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Las Vegas police are investigating a deadly shooting in the area of Blue Diamond and Fort Apache roads.

According to Metro police, the incident was reported at 10:14 a.m. in the 9000 block of Castledowns Street, off of El Capitan Way in a gated community.

Metro Lt. David Valenta said a 49-year-old man was found shot to death in the doorway of a home. His family members -- in the home -- called 911.

Valenta said no suspect has been taken into custody, at this time. Police are in the process of interviewing people at the scene.
