Station Casino Properties Hiring for Upcoming Pool Season

Two Station Casino properties will be holding job fairs for the upcoming pool season this week and next week.

Red Rock Resort and Green Valley Ranch Resort will be hiring for several different positions, including VIP attendants, beverage servers, bartenders, lifeguards, food servers and cabana hosts. In all, 130 positions are available.

Red Rock Resort will hold its job fair from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Cherry nightclub.

Green Valley Ranch Resort will hold a job fair from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 23 and Jan. 24 at the Lobby Bar.

Applicants must apply online first at www.sclv.com. Interviews will take place onsite at the job fair and applicants should bring a resume.


Job Fair Set for Saturday

A national career company is hosting a job fair Thursday at the Suncoast Hotel and Casino.

HireLive specializes in sales, retail and management career fairs. According to the company, between 15 and 20 companies will be at the event. All the companies will have hiring managers on-site and a private area to meet with candidates.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Winder Farms Expanding, Looking for Workers

A company that delivers groceries directly to homes is expanding in the Las Vegas and is now looking to hire more workers.

Winder Farms will be holding a hiring event from 4 to 7 p.m. August 14 at its new offices in Summerlin, 9930 West Cheyenne Avenue, Suite 110.

The company is looking for sales representatives, who will be responsible for promoting and selling products.

“Winder Farms has experienced amazing growth in the seven years we have been in Las Vegas; in fact, it has been our fastest growing market. We are so grateful to the community for welcoming us into their homes,” said Scott Tanner, President of Winder Farms.

City of Las Vegas Offering Lifeguard Classes


The city of Las Vegas is offering lifeguard training at two different pools starting in January.

The course will be offered at the Municipal Pool at 431 East Bonanza Road and at Pavilion Center Pool at 101 South Pavilion Center Drive. The training course is required for people who want to be lifeguards and the city will offer an employment opportunity to qualified graduates of the course.

Participants must be at least 15 years old and must pass a prerequisite skills test on the first day.

Rachel's Kitchen Looks for Employees for New Location

A group of restaurants held a job fair Wednesday for their newest location in Summerlin.

Rachel’s Kitchen will be opening a new location at 9691 Trailwood Drive in Trailwoods Center. The new restaurant will open next month. The owners need to fill about two dozen positions, including line cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers and managers.

"I am excited about the growth.  I am excited about all the changes that are happening, and I am excited about the birth of Rachel's Kitchen," founder of Rachel’s Kitchen Debbie Loxarzade said.

People were lined up before the job fair opened at 9 a.m. The owners interviewed about 30 people.


Silver State Schools Credit Union Closing 3 Branches

Silver State Schools Credit Union announced Wednesday it will be closing three branches in January.

The credit union will close the branches at Fort Apache Road and Sahara Avenue, Durango and Warm Springs, and Craig Road and Tenaya Way inside the Albertson’s store.

 “Silver State Schools Credit Union holds the members served by these branches in the highest regard, and we are proactively communicating with those members to let them know about the closing and the options available to them,” President/CEO Andrew Hunter said.

The closures are part of an effort to reduce costs. The employees at the branches will be given a chance to relocate to other branches. The closures will take effect by the middle of January.
